Personal Protection Training for Greater Houston & Surrounding Areas

Many new gun owners know they need training. Everybody needs a coach; every good coach knows nobody is starting on equal footing. At QRF Training Systems, we make it our mission to get to know you personally – at your current skill level, identify the need for improvement, and train and develop a personal protection mindset. Conveniently located in Katy, TX, we are proud to serve the Greater Houston, TX, and surrounding areas with these personal protection skills.

First Steps to Personal Protection Mindset

An excellent first step is to acquire your Texas License to Carry (LTC). This two-part class consists of an ONLINE 4-hour Classroom Session followed by your private one-on-one shooting proficiency test with one of the QRF’s State of Texas Licensed LTC Instructors. We suggest Defensive Pistol Level One to round out your beginner to intermediate training.

Texas Permitless Carry

Governor Greg Abbott signed HB 1927, effective September 1st, 2021. The bill allows SOME PEOPLE to carry a handgun on their person in a public place without an LTC. You must obey the Texas laws regarding the use of deadly force, handgun use and safety, safe storage of firearms, and most importantly, non-violent dispute resolution, which is an overview of an LTC classroom or online session.

Develop Your PPM

PERSONAL PROTECTION MINDSET begins with a clear understanding of Texas Law regarding using deadly force. Even more important is the overriding importance of non-violent dispute resolution. Your LTC carry course will outline the conditions that must be met to use deadly force. Follow that certification with further training to improve your skills and confidence.

Continuing Education

Texas License to Carry (LTC) is only the first step and one facet of a comprehensive learning plan. Regardless of your level of experience with a firearm, we have a curriculum that will increase your skills and decision-making to help you feel confident about acting reasonably according to the law.
